Big Sur is AMAZING! Truly a fantastic place for a roadtrip with so many amazing viewpoints, secluded beachs and just a cool drive. This trip very much depends on road closures as there have been lots of construction due to storms over the past three years. Please Check before going up!

Big Sur
Treebones resort is a fabulous first place to stop at when driving up Big Sur. With beautiful views and grounds it makes for a cool first introduction to the Big Sur Coast. It has lots of cool Yurts to stay in and there is one Treehouse you can reserve built by Treehouse Masters. It has a pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean. Have been stayed here many times but over the past 10 years it has gotten very crowded to reserve early.
A cool place to go for an afternoone hike after getting to Treebones. Sunsets along the coast can be spectacular on sunny days. A close place to go hike and explore some beautiful bluffs.
Kirk Creek Campground may be one of the coolest campgrounds I have ever stayed at. It is right on the bluffs above the ocean. It has incredible views and there is access to a beach a ways down. Most spots are alright but there are a few that are fenominal. Spots 5,7,8 & 9 are by far the best with great views. Spot 9 may be the best campspot on the WestCoast. I have had the privolige to get there when people were leaving the spot and can say with confidence it could easily the best place I have ever camped, and I have camped a lot. It is such a chill campground you really dont need to go anywhere but just relax in the campground. There is a nice hiking trail on the other side of the highway going up into the mountains which gives great views.
One of the most famous spots in Big Sur. With water fall goes almost directly into the ocean and is truly am magical place. It can get crowded so would recoment hitting it early in the morning. It is a hike down to it but it worth seeing if its your first time in Big Sur.
The Pfeiffer Burns State Park is where the McWay Falls are. It has lots of other hiking in the area and is cool to explore. I would hit this after seeing the water fall because the rest of the park will be less crowded later on in the day.
Pfeiffer Big Sur is another great campground in Big Sur. It is located in the Northern part of the park and is nestled back into the Redwoods. It is inland from the coast but is just a short drive back to it. This campground has hundreds of spots and is probably the biggest campground in the area. Some spots are pretty mid but some are very cool. If you can get one along the river that is the best. Just watch out for poison oak because it is everywhere. If you don't know what it looks like I would highly recomend doing some research as it is not a fun plant to interact with.
The closest beach to the campground. It is a short hike to the beach but is a cool place to relax during the afternoon and evening.
Would highly recomment eating here at least once while in Big Sur. It has a fantastic atmosphere and amazing views. It is a fun social scene and a big outdoor area as well at inside seating. The food is fantastic and they are specially know for their burgers. I stop here every time I come through or camp in Big Sur and it hits every single time. The only down side is sometimes the wait can be hours but thats because of how good it is. Definitly worth going!
Cafe Kevah is right next to Nepenthe and is a great place to go if you don't want to wait for a table at Nepenthe. It has pretty good food and just as nice of a view. It does not have as much history as Nepenthe and isn't as cool but it is still a great place to eat. Also has a cool giftchop/store under the restaurants that have lots of cool things inside.
Bixby Bridge is probably the most famous thing in Big Sur. It is a very cool bridge to stop at and see. There is a cool viewpoint up the canyon from the bridge that gives you a very cool view from far behind the bridge. It is a great last stop when driving up Big Sur.
