Those are fried pieces of fish, like cot, combined with a sauce. A nice place where you can enjoy these specialties is De Lunch. Story: The historic village is located by Lake Markermeer, and once had direct access to the North Sea via the Zuiderzee. From here, the fishery boats of the Volendam fleet left for their fishing trips. You should not miss seeing the 2 historic fishing boats maintained for preservation of the Zuiderzee culture. The Volendam boats are still to be recognized by the abbreviation 'VD' in the name. These boats are very typical of the ones used in the area.
