During personal tastings there will be many opportunities to swirl, sniff and slurp RIESLING ( the star of the show ) in all its glory and variations from bone DRY to late harvest Riesling coming from the different soils of blue, red and grey quartzite slate. From Frankfurt, and the Autobahn it’s about 1.5 hr drive through some stunning green countryside on our way to Eltz castle, considered “the most beautiful castle in Europe”, a “fairy tale in stone” A charming castle situated near the Mosel for 900 years. Eltz takes you back to the Middle Ages, with a fabulous treasury and unspoilt forrest surroundings. After a tour, and many castle steps you will be hungry & thirsty. So we will head to the Mosel valley to a charming village for lunch at a wine tavern. you can try authentic schnitzel or seasonal products. After a briefing, paddle nine kilometres downstream past Valwig, the Brauselay and the Reichsburg to Klotten. The journey time is about 1.5 hours, breaks are possible flexibly. In Klotten you leave the boats, and the Moselle team takes care of their collection. Directly opposite, a wine-grower's plate with a soup of wine awaits you in the winery. Once in Kröv, you will then go from the ship to an ostrich farm just a few minutes walk away. There you can expect a delicious tarte flambée classic or vegetarian as lunch.
