Virginia Museum of History & Culture
Since it was a rainy day we wanted to find indoor activities to pass the time and decided to start off with this museum and learned so much about the history of Virginia and the important figures that came from there! This museum gave us a really amazing perspective and made us really excited to explore more of Virginia!

Perfectly located across the street from the Virginia museum of history and culture it was a no brainer to appreciate the local artist of Richmond and appreciate some historical sections that are not native to Virginia! The best part is this was free! So there is no excuse not to appreciate what this museum has to offer

We love exploring bookstores when we travel, and this one charmed us immediately! The cats by the window hinted at a special place, and we were delighted to find it was more than it seemed. With two well-organized floors and a friendly staff, it offered plenty of cozy reading spots.

For fellow thrifters, Ashby’s is a must-visit! It offers an impressive selection of used clothes, jewelry, and shoes, along with a variety of unique, curated trinkets like decorations and stickers.

Ironclad Coffee Roasters & Baking Co.
We love a good aesthetic café, and this one didn’t disappoint! Housed in an old fire station, it offers great vibes, delicious baked goods, and an ice matcha latte that was simply fantastic.

Virginia State Capitol
This is a must do tours out of everything we visited in Richmond! The best part- it’s FREE! Although they offer self guided tours we highly reccomend waiting for the guided tour because these tour guides are filled with amazing knowledge and without them I wouldn’t have known half at what we were looking at!

Belle Isle
Richmond is famous for its fantastic hikes, and this trail was perfect for our nature fix. It’s close to the city, offering a great outdoor experience without straying too far from the city itself.

KavaClub
After a refreshing hike, we treated ourselves to something healthy at a Kava bar for the first time. It’s not something we have back home, so we were excited to try this local gem. We definitely recommend it—plus, they had a live band playing during the day!

The best part of breweries is the atmosphere, and we picked this spot for its fantastic outdoor area, complete with lights and board games. It was the perfect way to end the day with friends.

Sub Rosa Bakery
The line may have been long but for good reason! Luckily the staff is very efficient and the line goes by quickly but get here early so you can beat the crowds and grab a seat by the window to people watch! We got the ham and cheese croissant with green tea!

Historic St. John's Church
Have you ever heard the phrase “give me liberty or give me death”. Well this is the exact spot where Patrick Henry said those famous words! This church is still running so make sure to visit during a time where there isn’t a mass going on!

Libby Hill Park
One of the best views of Richmond but our big tip is to plan it around sunset and have yourself a picnic! We stilled loved the view and found the stroll really peaceful!

Chimborazo Park
Just down the street from Libby Hill Park, this spot offers great views and a pleasant stroll. For the best experience, visit in the early morning or evening, since there isn’t much shade if you go midday (considering the heat).

The Poe Museum
If you're into the macabre, this museum is a must-visit! Even if Edgar Allan Poe’s work isn’t your thing, his home is beautiful and charming. We loved the audio tour, but be sure to bring headphones to be considerate of other visitors.

Located in the historic Fan District, this charming sandwich shop is a must-visit after admiring the architecture. We had the Point Guard—turkey, bacon, Swiss, jalapeño, caramelized onions, and mayo on toasted Italian bread—and it was incredible! A must stop for a foodie
