Start exploring Brussels at the Grand Place, you will be amazed by the splendour of this place, big, tall buildings decorated with gold. Wander around the square and take the perfect photo. This really is THE must-see in Brussels and my personal favorit spot in the city.

On the Grand Place is the city hall, you can book a tour to admire the interior. It is a beautiful building with lots of splendour in the typical Brussels Art Nouveau style.

Here you will find an underground exhibition in addition to two cinemas, the building was built in 1939 in modernism style and is classified as a monument of Belgium.

Choco-Story Brussels
On the road to Manneken Pis you will find Choco Story, taking you through the history of chocolate and cocoa beans. Discover a Mayan temple where cocoa beans were consumed 5,000 years ago, how boat Cortez brought the beans to Europe and how the first chocolates were created in Brussels. Of course, during your visit, you will be served some tastings. PS: You can also book a workshop there, which is fun to do with the family.

Another must-see and very touristic spot in Brussels, it can be hard to get that perfect picture because of the many tourists, I recommend to come early or to be patience until you see an opening. On special days he wears a special outfit, there is also a board with information about which outfit he wears on which days.

Day 2: Trip to Waterloo

Waterloo Battlefield
The famous Battle of Waterloo in 1815, where Naploleon was defeated, was fought here. The domain of Waterloo consists of 4 sights: 1. The Museum of Memorial Here you will experience the story of the battle of Waterloo through unique sets, weapons collections and special effects collections. 2. The Lion of Waterloo This famous statue sits atop a 40m-high hill that you can reach by climbing 226 steps. The lion symbolizes the prestigious victory over Napoleon. From the hill, you can see the entire battlefield. 3. The panorama This large circular building houses an impressive painting depicting the battle of Waterloo, the canvas has a circumference of 110m and height of 12m. Special sound effects are provided inside so you will be immersed in the heat of battle. 4. The Farm of Hougoumont This historic farmstead is the last authentic one from the battle of Waterloo. Napoleon's brother attacked here first, it ended up as the most violent site of the battle.

Royal Palace of Brussels
Start this day at the Royal Palace of Brussels, this is another must-see, since it's one of our king's main workshops, it is only visitable in summer from our national holiday on 21 July until early September. It is a beautiful building with lots of splendour and a lovely garden. The outside of the palace is already impressive but the inside is also more than worth seeing. The main rooms you can visit are the honorary staircase, great antechamber, empire hall, white salon, venetian staircase, coburg's salon, marble hall, large gallery, hall of mirrors. the throne room.

Day 4: Atomium + Koekelberg

Atomium
This is another must-see, it's the monument most people think of when they think of Belgium. Built in 1958, the Atomium is located in Heysel Park, near the Red Devils' national stadium. It is 102 metres high and consists of 9 imposing spheres, which each have a diameter of 18m.

Mini-Europe
Located near the Atomium, Mini Europa is a unique miniature world, all the wonders of Europe are on display here. In addition, you can experience all kinds of important moments in history there, like igniting the eruption of Vesuvius and watching the ascension of the Ariane rocket. The tour lasts 2 hours and takes you through all 27 states of the European Union + United Kingdom. You will discover their historical, architectural and cultural treasures.

You can find tickets on Anderlecht's ticketing website, a resale is opened for almost all matches.
