Post House
While I definitely recommend Post House Inn as a place to stay, I put it here because it’s also fabulous for dinner or brunch. You can sit out on the patio of the weather is nice. Interior design + food and cocktails give this place 10/10.

Think Açaà bowl, avocado toast, iced latte, breakfast bowl kind of place. They don’t have a ton of indoor seating but lots outside!
See MoreBrown Fox Coffee
I just go here for a coffee stop! They don’t have much in the way of food, but it’s a much better quick stop than Starbucks!
See MoreVicious Biscuit
Viscous is famous for their heavy breakfasts. If you want a fried chicken + pimento cheese biscuit with hot honey, go their direction.
See MoreMuddy's Dockside Bar
Muddy’s is my pick for a beer on Shem Creek. I feel this is controversial because most would be running to Saltwater Cowboys on the other side of the creek. But I personally always find that so crowded that it’s unpleasant. I’d rather go to Muddy’s, which is a little quieter and closer to the water.
