Apgar Visitor Center

Great place to start your Glacier National Park trip. Get some information from park rangers or jump on the shuttle here.

Lake McDonald

The largest lake in the park and ideal for water sport activities and photography.

Avalanche Lake

One of my favorite "moderate" hikes in the park. Parking fills up fast so you'll want to get there early.

Logan Pass

The highest point in the park and the highlight of Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Hidden Lake Overlook

Another one of my favorite short hikes. It's relatively flat and good for all levels.

Jackson Glacier

This overlook offers a glimpse of one of the park's last remaining glaciers.

Many Glacier Hotel

If you have the chance, staying at the Many Glacier area when you visit this spot in the park is a historic must.

Grinnell Glacier

My favorite hike! It's a little tough, but you can shave off soe mileage by taking the boat tour that leaves from the Many Glacier Hotel.

Iceberg Lake

An excellent alternative to the Grinnell Glacier hike. The payoff of that blue water is more than worth it.

Saint Mary Lake

If you are headed back over from the east side, you'll want to stop and get a photo of this iconic spot seen in the movie "The Shining."

Saint Mary Falls

If you have time for one more hike, this easy one is perfect for kids and to see one of Glacier's waterfalls.

Lake McDonald Lodge

If you plan on staying on the west side of the park, the Lake McDonald Lodge is a great option if you can. Plus, it puts you right at the trailheads for the hikes on the west side.

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake

If you plan on staying outside the park and you want a bit of luxury, I recommend the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Easy access to downtown Whitefish with a delicious restaurant!
