Sunny Surfschool.gilit

Sunny’s Surf School located directly on the beach in Bongkas, in front of the best wave in Gili T. You can rent surf boards here - they have any size ya need, hard and soft tops. You can also get surf lessons + guiding. The staff is so much fun and so knowledgeable. Sunny (the owner) also runs a boat charter company, where we went trolling in between Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno. He’s such a knowledgeable fisherman and knows all of the best spots to score some fish! We also spent a day snorkeling with him. He had all of the equipment we need, and took us to a few different places! The boat was so comfy and I felt safe the entire time. We saw a ton of fish, turtles, eels and even snorkeled around a big statue under water. We take at least one trip (snorkeling or fishing) with him every time we go to Gili Trawangan.

Bongkas

My favorite beach in Gili Trawangan. A really fun wave to surf right out front, the most gorgeous turquoise water I’ve ever seen, white sand beach, and a little tiki bar with bean bags for you to use. Literally what you imagine when you think of an island getaway!

Margarita Resto & Tequila Sunrise Beach Bar

Really fun place to go if you’re looking for some nightlife. It gets so full that people start dancing in the street, really cool vibes. The DJ was good and there’s even a little place next door with some coolers lining the street, to by beers for super cheap!

Abdi Hotel & Bungalow

Located directly across from the ferry where you come in after riding the fast boat. I’ve stayed here a few times and continue to come back because it’s so nice and convenient. It’s right in the middle of everything but tucked back a bit from the road, so you aren’t bothered by the noise. The rooms are sooo nice, spacious, and updated and it just feels like home. They have bicycles you can rent and a really nice pool + hang area. Also the little couch area in front of each room is cozy to hang out! Love this spot.

Hotel Lumi Gili Trawangan

I have never stayed here, just came here for lunch. But the vibe is super cool and right across from the beach. A little more upscale for Indonesia, so higher prices. But the atmosphere is really beautiful and the food was delicious! A nice place to treat yourself.

Desha Spa

Hands down the best massage I’ve ever gotten. Once I found this place, my boyfriend and I went back the next day to get the same massage. Make sure you get the Lombok Massage if you’re looking for a deeper, stronger massage, and a Balinese massage if you want more relaxing. We got the Lombok massage and it was really deep. I’ll never take a trip to Gili T without coming here.

Lush Life Gili

Really cozy spot, great for hair treatments + manicure and pedicures, at a super affordable price. They even offer gel manicures and pedicures plus a ton of different hair treatments.

Lolita Gili

My favorite Mexican food in Gili T, I’ve tried some Other spots and wasn’t impressed but Lolita is very good! The atmosphere is really cool and the place is huge.

Hellocapitano Lifestyle Café

Really cute cafe with delicious desserts + coffee. I love to come here and get some work done, while enjoying their desserts. Directly across from the beach and a really cute atmosphere inside.

Nala Beach

My favorite local food spot in Gili Trawangan. Directly on the beach across from Sunny Surf School. I always go for a surf, then eat here. They have Nasi Campur (local style buffet) where you can choose from a bunch of different local dishes for super cheap! They also have a full menu if you’re craving another local dish. You MUST try the curry! It’s one of my favorites in all of Indonesia.

The Banyan Tree

Really delicious healthy spot! They’ve got a huge menu of healthy smoothies, elixers, juices, as well as a full food menu with a ton of healthy options. Also, their dessert selection is HUGE and a majority of them (yes, the list of ones I’ve tried is quite long) are absolutely delicious. They even have energy balls + bars! Love this spot when I’m craving some nutrients and healthy options.
