El Yunque National Forest
It’s worth getting here early to explore a bit before the crowds show up. Either way, the swimming holes are a beautiful area to refresh and cool off after you hike some of the trails.

Casa Grande Mountain Retreat (for adults 18yrs+)
This beautiful mountain retreat just outside of Utuado was truly a special experience. This is where we stayed for the remainder of the trip. I would recommend setting aside one morning to really enjoying the property, and would 100% recommend eating at the restaurant, especially if you’re vegetarian.

Bosque Seco de Guanica
The hikes around the dry forest here feel like you’ve stepped onto a totally different island. Don’t miss out on exploring the caves here, as they’re incredible!

Day 5

Cañón Blanco
This spot is a great place to start your day and the rock formations are wild to see in person. If you keep an eye out, you’ll even spot some pre-Columbia petroglyphs!

Bosque Estatal Toro Negro
Easily one of my favorite stops of this trip, the cloud forest is absolutely magical. The foliage and sounds of the chirping coquí frogs make for a beautiful auditory and visual experience while hiking. When the water levels are lower, you can swim at the pools on most of the hikes!
