Caption: Zagreb's lower town could also be known as Hermann Bolle's Zagreb.
Born in Cologne, Bolle came to Croatia after meeting Josip Juraj Strossmayer, who invited him to practice his craft in Zagreb.
Bolle restored and built many structures including the Museum of Arts and Crafts, Zagreb Cathedral and Mirogoj cemetery.
He later influenced city planning and as an ode to his genius was buried surrounded by his creation, Mirogoj.
