Caption: Daenerys Targaryen:
Daenerys is the ultimate badass. She started with nothing and worked her way up to excellent advisors, ships, warriors, followers, oh and some dragons. She is strong, confident, and takes what she wants. If we will see her sit on the iron throne is unknown, but there is no doubt she is capable of taking it. The only thing that scares me about her is how similar she is to her father, and we do not need another Mad King on the throne.

Caption: Arya Stark:
Arya Stark is so strong and will also take what she wants. She also, in a way, came from nothing. She grew up mostly by herself after her father died and did a damn good job of it. She sacrificed her childhood to train to become talented in fighting. She has become a master killer, and everything she has wanted to be since she was younger. It would not surprise me if she became the master-swordsman in all of Westeros. She has successfully killed those who have wronged her, and will continue to do so. She fought more bravely over most of the soldiers in the Battle of Winterfell. And most of all, SHE KILLED THE NIGHT KING, and she so deserved to do so.

Caption: Lyanna Mormont:
Lyanna Giantsbaine Mormont was the fiercest of the Mormont. She was stronger and more powerful also during the Battle of Winterfell. It seemed unfit for such a little girl to rule Bear Island, but she did the best job anyone could. She made choices that fit well for the house, and Bear Island. She did not appear timid or unsure of her decisions, and often spoke up in meetings over men. Her death, though sad, was honorable. She fought protecting the North instead of hiding in the crypts. Also, she.killed.a.giant.! 5 foot Lyanna Mormont killed one of the last giants in Westero, and after being severely injured. Here. We. Stand.

Caption: Ser Brienne of Tarth:
We first meet her as a new follower of Renly Baratheon. Then for Catelyn Stark when Renly dies. Along the way, she meets and becomes close with Ser Jaime Lannister, where we see a whole new side of her. After this, she leaves to find the Stark girls. She sees Arya and defeats the Hound (!!) but Arya escapes. She finds Sansa and is her ‘bodyguard.’ She fights for Sansa and Arya now and until they or she dies. She is so highly rated because she is extremely loyal. She was loyal to Renly until he died, same with Catelyn. She proved her loyalty more to Catelyn by going to look after her girls, even after Catelyn is dead she keeps this promise. She is loyal, one of the best fighters, and should have gotten the title of Ser Brienne a lot earlier.

Caption: Catelyn Stark:
What I like most about Catelyn, especially after reading book 1, is how strong she is after Ned dies. Not only does she keep her head up, but she fights for him and her children. She is a strong woman who is very family oriented, which makes you love the Starks even more. We, unfortunately, do not get to see a lot of her since she meets her demise in season 3. Catelyn’s death was quick and unexpected. We wanted more of her and were sad to see her go. My favorite thing about her is how she would do anything for her children.

Caption: Sansa Stark:
Sansa Stark, out of every Game of Thrones character (um, there’s quite a few), has the best character development in the show. We first see her as an annoying character. We then pity her in her time in King’s Landing after her fathers death. Then, we struggle to watch her in Ramsay’s clutches. After this, Sansa rises like a Phoenix from the ashes (like she also will in her new movie Dark Phoenix) and instead of letting her horrid past define her, she becomes more powerful and an excellent Lady of Winterfell.

Caption: Olenna Tyrell:
Olenna Tyrell is a woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. She says what she wants to say, when she wants to say it. After watching 4 hard season of Joffrey Baratheon being the worst character on the show, we finally see his death and later learn we have Olenna Tyrell to thank for that. Thank goodness, because that was one of the most satisfying deaths. She, like Catelyn, will do anything to protect her family and her house. She protected High Garden until the day she died.

Caption: Margaery Tyrell:
Similar to her grandmother, Margaery is more soft spoken and very wise. She wished to be queen from the first time we see her, and will do anything to gain the title. We do not want to see her married to Joffrey, and clearly Olenna does not want to her see her marry him either. She definitely wanted to be queen above all but I also think she did love King Tommen. It was easy to love Margaery, she was very caring for her family and the people of Kings Landing.

Caption: Meera Reed:
She is probably the most underrated woman of Game of Thrones. Without Meera Reed and the sacrifice of her brother, Bran Stark aka the Three Eyed Raven, would currently not be alive. She loses her brother and at times even her own life making sure Bran stays safe. She, near the end, carries Bran around on the cart while he wargs, which does not seem easy. She got absolutely no recognition from anyone at Winterfell or Bran himself when she left. I hope we get to see her one last time in this show, and she gets a proper goodbye/reward for her work.

Caption: Cersei Lannister:
I know what you are thinking....her? I wanted to have a list of powerful Game of Thrones women. When making this list, I had a solid 9 and asked Chance, who is way more knowledgeable about Game of Thrones, and he suggested her. I looked at him like he was insane, but he made the compelling argument that Cersei Lannister has fought and gotten everything she has ever wanted. He’s not wrong, so I made her last. Cersei only wants to be with Jaime, and see her kids take over the seven kingdoms. She has finally lost Jaime, which will be an interesting development. She loses her three children by murder and suicide. She is devastated, but does not let it destroy her. Instead, she uses this rage to take down every enemy that has ever crossed her. Many die who are in Game of Thrones, but Cersei is still here because no one has successfully taken her down. The Great Sept tried to, and almost succeeded, but she then blows them up as well as other innocent people. This final wrap up of her story will be quite interesting, since she never has really lost. There is no denying Cersei Lannister is a very powerful woman in Game of Thrones.
