Caption: A few weeks back I flew into Wollongong with some of my very favorite instagrammers for a week of seaside shooting.
Joined by local photographer William Patino we explored every inch of Wollongong and beyond for seascapes galore!
Wollongong is located one hour south of Sydney Australia.

Caption: This is me! Visit Wollongong were very proactive in attracting press coverage for the week and we collectively appeared on TV, print and radio during our time there!

Caption: Besides just shooting seascapes, of which the destination is famous for, we also took the time to visit local attractions such as Symbio Wildlife Park, the Illawarra Fly and Touchdown Helicopters!
On our travels we also ventured out of Wollongong "proper" but never more than a short drive away!

Caption: The Rainbow Story! After a long day shooting the entire group headed back to the Novotel Wollongong to do some editing and uploading. Within half an hour a gigantic rainbow appeared across the Harbour ending right between the two lighthouses, in other words a hero shot! Will sent out a group SOS, get to the sea. Shooting time!
As I gathered my things I had a fantastic idea, I would collect our van and meet everyone at reception. This is no easy task as it was parked in a very tight crowded car park and takes some maneuvering to get out... (Cont)

Caption: As I reached reception another message hit the airwaves. The rainbow was intensifying and it was every man for himself! Not a soul was waiting for me, everyone had legged it on foot! I drove the van in circles unable to get a park and I could see my group running around like maniacs in front of the Novotel and the beach below. Alas they cared nothing for my dilemma.
Finally I found a park and this happened ...

Caption: Omg, yesterday afternoon was hilarious! We had all gone back to our respective rooms to try and edit some of the hundreds of photos we shot when we got an emergency message through, a rainbow over the lighthouses had appeared! 😱🌈🌈 We made a plan to meet downstairs in ten minutes but the rainbow intensified and plans went out the window, it was every Instagrammer for them self! I kindly went to the garage to bring the car up to everyone when I realized they had scattered to the wind. After much frustration trying to park I finally made it to the beach and joined the frantic pack. We trashed our camera bags with sand, changed lenses in the wind, screamed like loons and basically the rainbow lasted for an hour and we could have calmly driven to the Harbour and behaved like normal people. 😂😂
