Caption: One of the most unforgettable experiences from my time in Banff has been winter treks to the Icefields.
This isn’t for the feint of heart, as glaciers can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable.
But witnessing these massive ice caves underneath the glacier - there are no words to describe how beautiful and awe-inspiring it is.
It also captures the true essence of photography - these caves change size and shape each year as they melt - meaning these photos will never be able to be re-created.

This is a truly surreal experience that reminds you of the incredible power that exists.
It’s amazing how something so powerful can be turned into a stunning display of light, gently dancing overhead.
Banff has a HUGE community of people that chase the Northern Lights! AURORA BOREALIS

There is plenty of dark sky areas that are incredible places to capture jaw dropping astrophotography shots.
Whether it’s the Milky Way or Northern Lights - or even just some rolling clouds. It’s remarkably beautiful.

When the lakes are nice and frozen - they open up incredible expanses of ice that are prime for skating.
Some lakes freeze so deeply that you can actually drive vehicles onto them… at your own risk of course 😬

When winter temps can drop to -30 or more, you get to witness some beautiful formations.
Hoarfrost, flash frozen lakes, or literal feet of fluffy white snow. It may be VERY COLD. But there is a real beauty that comes with it.
Winter isn’t that scary if you’re well dressed 😉
