Caption: For my 28 birthday my girlfriend planned a weekend trip to Sonoma with some of our friends.
Magically, the weekend we picked was also barrel tasting weekend. Wineries up and down Wine Road in Sonoma County opened up their tasting rooms and barrels to give us all a unique tasting experience!

Caption: We started at Benovia Winery and tried a Pinot Noir straight from the barrel. After trying this young version we tried two older versions to see what the Pinot would become.
(They also had an incredible Chardonnay and Rose for anyone that doesn’t love reds)

Caption: On to Tara Bella. The sun finally started coming out and we met the cat they rescued after the fires. Maybe this should just showcase all the animals we met while wine tasting

Caption: The only major winery we went to was Korbel (they have an amazing deli and we needed food). Sparkling wine isn’t my favorite but it’s a beautiful location.

Caption: FINAL THOUGHTS I definitely would suggest doing barrel weekend. We got to go to six wineries all together and tried some amazing wines that might not have been available otherwise. It also saved us a ton of money!
I’m hoping to go back next year!
My final tip: if you love a wine buy the bottle. We didn’t in case something else came up and now regret it. Benovia we’re coming back for you!
