Caption: THE Road trip DC -> Seattle Last Fall I left DC, a place I’ve called home for five years, to move to Seattle. I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest so it feels like going home!
I took a week or so to road trip across America. Taking some time to take in the natural beauty of our country and try some of its amazing food and local beer.

The place was kitschy and filled with fun, but also DELICIOUS.

Caption: After going 80 on route 40, I told my friend to get off the free way so we could explore what used to be Route 66. We came across this diner, another relic of its time, at least that’s what I initially thought upon seeing the 50’s vinyl seats and counter space. But then I sat down and was greeted by the most genuine server I’ve met in a long time. She knew I wasn’t from the area, but she treated me like I was there everyday.

Caption: Finally making it to Seattle was unreal, especially since this was the kind of sky that greeted us. We definitely think the city is trying to trick us into believing it’s not always grey.
If you can, do a road trip. I wish I could have taken even more time exploring this country. There’s so much to see and so many people to meet. I loved talking to bartenders and servers to get a feel for the places we traveled through. I saw a different kind of America, and it was great.
