Video of Patacancha
Caption: Visiting Patacancha village was definitely a huge highlight of our trip in Peru. The local villagers in Patacancha constitute an ethnic group that has kept Inca traditions alive. We had the chance to meet a family there. It was a unique experience to get closer to the rich Andean ancient traditions.
We enjoyed the specialty of the villagers: ‘Pachamanca’, a traditional dish baked with the aid of hot stones. We also discovered their textile art, a true heritage treasure. Their clothing exposes very eye-catching colors, which we love!
We felt so happy and privileged to have this opportunity! When travelling, it’s easy to just see the veneer of culture, but now we really got to the heart of this community. The villagers rarely ever see tourists over here. We can assure you it’s an authentic and genuine experience you definitely want to have when you’re in the Cusco region.
