BIRTH CITY Ulm is a city in the south
of Baden-Württemberg, situated along the River Danube on the border to Bavaria. It was founded in medieval times and is now a mixture of old and new architecture.

Caption: 1. Ulm Münster has the highest church tower in the world (165,5 m) At 768 steps high you can have a panoramic view of the area, including the Alps.

Caption: 2. The city was 80% destroyed during WWII and is therefore a mix of modern architecture and a few old restored gems.

Caption: 3. The beautiful medieval waterside quarter - the Fisherviertel is located where the Blue stream enters River Danube and is today a beautiful area with mostly specialty shops, bars and restaurants.

Caption: 4. Altes Rathaus (The Old Town hall) has a unique colorful design from the early Renaissance and is covered in frescos. The oldest part dates back to 1370. It was restored in the 1900s.

Caption: 5. The leaning tower of Ulm - The Metzgerturm - has a 3,3 degree tilt (tower of Pisa has 3,97) and is older than the cathedral. It was built in 1340 and is 36 m high. It’s tilting because of rotting wooden foundation.

Caption: Cv Additional tip for if you’re in Ulm; take a 45 minute trip to Bad Buchau and the Federseesteg. It’s a 1,5 km long boarded walk on the Federsee, through fen meadows and reed. You’ll see a rich diversity of nature and wildlife and beautiful views of the area.
