Caption: Week twenty nine brought some changes to Scotland as ‘non-essential’ shops were able to open their doors again on July 13. As we were in Edinburgh one afternoon that week, I popped into a few of my favourite indie stores. It’s always been important to support independent businesses, but now, with the greater challenges of these Covid days, this feels even more important. In the coming months, if you are spending money (and realise that many people won’t be, but if you are...), then do think about the businesses you’re supporting by doing so. Shop small, shop indie. Let’s make sure that the independents we love are still here in the post-Covid days.

Caption: This is really a story in two halves - two halves that feel incongruous when viewed together! But week twenty nine was mostly about walks - locally, at the ash lagoons, and down the coast at John Muir Country Park and at Yellowcraig, both in the most incredible light.
