The track leads to the town of Borbino, which you cross passing between old houses and vegetable gardens. The mule track resumes its course crossing the Val Monastero and reaching the chapel of the Madonna di Caravaggio. Here the path becomes a real road that leads to the hamlet of Novegolo.

Immediately afterwards, turn right into via Volta, which you follow for a short distance, until you reach the grassy path that runs parallel to the lake shore. An uphill stretch on a paved road leads to the church of San Giorgio, with its wonderful cycle of frescoes.
Beyond the church, take a road on the right, climbing until you reach and cross the freeway, then turn left, taking a small road that leads near the cemetery of Zana. Here you follow the carriage road reaching the hamlet of Maggiana, in the municipality of Mandello del Lario, which you can admire passing through the square of the church of San Rocco and then along via Vittorio Veneto, finally exiting the town to cross a terraced area cultivated with lives.

From Sonvico we walk up a grassy saddle, reaching the chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Subsequently, the itinerary becomes paved for a long stretch, crossing the ridge parallel to the shore of the lake.

The itinerary follows a mule track on the right, which climbs until it meets the freeway and passes it thanks to an underpass.
The ground becomes cobbled again and, having now reached the Lierna basin, crosses the hamlets of Sornico (301 m) and Genico (319 m) to then descend to the center of Lierna from where you can easily reach the railway station.
