Caption: My story: Couch to Mountains in 5 years!!! Transition into Hiking
Picture
Caption: At age 22, hiking were not a hobby of mine. My vacations were laying in the sun like this cruise I took Spring Break of 2010 with my college roommate.
Picture
Caption: I got a little closer the next year going on a boating camp trip. Still not very rustic...
Picture
Caption: Arches National Park Then I moved to Colorado in 2011 and the transition started. My boyfriend and I started visiting large parks and doing small hikes here and there. This one is Delicate Arch. Over 3 miles round trip going straight up slickrock in areas.
Picture
Caption: Our hike the next day at Arches. Look how high we climbed!!!
Picture
Caption: Friends would start to visit and we'd still do touristy simple hikes. This one is the Maroon Bells in 2012.
Picture
Caption: Our hikes became longer and steeper. It was obvious, the harder the hike the better the view :)
Picture
Caption: Like this one at Glacier National Park in 2014
Picture
Caption: Yeah - I started hiking in the snow even
Picture
Caption: We'd do hikes in the middle of June where we went up so high, the lake was still frozen over.
Picture
Caption: Then my boyfriend pushed me toward more adventures involving scrambling and climbing
Picture
Caption: Until I got really good at it 😉 This is at Ding Dang Canyon 2015
Picture
Caption: The climbing allowed us to see ruins and sights we couldn't get to before
Picture
Caption: It helped me stay fit and be able to reach the top. Like here - Rattlesnake Canyon in 2014

Picture
Caption: That's right! I'm on a tiny cliff and going strong 👌
Picture
Caption: Which then led to backpacking! Who would have thought? This trip was in June of 2015
Picture
Caption: Presently, I have hiked a 13er Mt. Sopris, climbed up ledges and ladders, shuffled across water filled narrow canyons, and backpacked in the wild.
I never would have guessed that I would love every minute ...
Who knows what I'll accomplish next?!
