AND I MUST GO... The Mountains
are Calling
Caption: Actually, it was really Cody Payne calling, and he was calling to ask if I was up...
After snoozing my 3:30AM alarm, I woke to a 5AM phone call and texts saying "You up?"
As my stomach dropped, I sprang out of bed and jumped to organizing my gear. We were off to Grinnell Glacier in Many Glacier, Glacier National Park; and I was supposed to be pulling into the grocery store parking lot so we could carpool.
Fortunately, Cody didn't leave me behind! Although we were running late, my angst about meeting others and doing my first 12 mile day hike began to settle.

Caption: Meeting the group Every view captivates, and the colors mesmerize. As the shutters fired, I knew we were all going to get along just great. When hiking in such a beautiful location, it's tough to NOT constantly take photos!
It was an incredible experience being with a group of others who valued capturing those moments as much as I do. We are truly blessed to have access to these stunning places! Sharing these moments with others makes it that much more special.

Caption: There is something incredibly peaceful about draining your energy by hiking in nature. Comfort in the silence perfectly embraces the awe inspiring fall sights of Lake Grinnell and Lake Josephine.
The idea of others absorbing similar views in the 1890s blows my mind.
Shout out to George Bird Grinnell!
