Caption: The garden The James P. Kelleher Rose Garden is a designated Boston landmark. It is like a secret garden nestled in the midst of a Boston neighborhood.
Designed by Arthur Shurcliff, a noted Boston landscape architect, this English style garden is part of Emerald Necklace, a chain of parks in Boston and Brookline, connected by parkways and waterways.
It is small but delightful garden with a variety of rose bushes most notably Super Dorothy (cover photo) as it now blooms profusely on the arched trellises which appears to be the main attraction of the garden.
I really enjoyed the quiet time taking photos early last Sunday morning.

Caption: The garden is open from 0700-1700. I arrived at 0715 with nary a soul there. For about 45 mins, I have the garden to myself, enjoying the solitude, the calm stillness of the place interrupted only by customary sounds the birds made.
