Picture
Caption: Back in December myself and my dear friend Mark had returned from our initial trip to Iceland but we had only further wetted out appetite, plans were afoot to return on a big scale... Come April these plans came to fruition.

Caption: The sheer scale of some of the waterfalls in Iceland can't be seen until you place some perspective in front of it. This is Skogafoss in the south of the country and stands at 200ft high.
Picture
Caption: Seljalandsfoss was just down the road from Skogafoss so we explored it's great compositions.

Caption: The Sea stacks at Reynisdrangar near Vík provided us with an early morning shoot, this location was used during the filming of the Noah film. I had visited here in the first tour but the weather was markedly better this time.

Caption: This is one of Iceland’s most iconic & haunting photography locations. On Saturday Nov 24, 1973 a United States Navy Douglas Super DC-3 airplane was forced to land on Sólheimasandur’s black sand beach in the south of Iceland after experiencing severe icing.

Caption: Jökulsárlón is possibly the most spectacular and unusual locations on the island. The combination of the huge Ice and black sand is amazing.

Caption: Even had time for a little spot of Wildlife spotting / feeding / stroking... I'm a massive fan of these Icelandic Ponies and there hardy resilience to the weather conditions they encounter

Caption: At Hvítserkur is strangely shaped rock, situated in the Gulf of Hunafloui, off the northern coast of Iceland. You can view the outlines of an enormous creature that looks like a dinosaur, which drinks water Greenland Sea. Researchers believe that this 15-meter-high rock formation is the remnants of an ancient volcano

Caption: This location was probably the trickiest to find out of the lot. Problem was time was against me, I could see the pinks and I knew there was a sea stack somewhere so I found a trail and just ran, ran until eventually 15 minutes later I found this beauty!
Picture
Caption: Godafoss presented my with the best sky I had ever seen, now most people would go and shoot the waterfall but the sky wasn't epic above it, just round the corner over this dramatic sunset was unfolding, some careful treading on the ice shelf gave a great composition and made me for really peaceful half an hour or so.
Picture
Caption: The Vestrahorn mountain at Stokkness looks an incredible sight and it is, however this lovely black sand doesn't take kindly to Campervans, yes, this is where we go stuck for several hours before paying some kind locals to tow us away, character building they say...

Caption: To Conclude... The trip of a lifetime had come to an end, 4 bearded gentlemen had made friends for life, managed to have 3 showers using swimming pools facilities, been battered by -6c temperatures, Gail force winds, barely any sleep and less than gormet food, but the photos make up for hardships along the way.
