Chad Robertson of Tartine Bakery has been baking bread for over 20 years. The naturally leavened, crusty loaves are some of the most sought-after in the world. It was a pleasure to witness his ritual, to speak of the places we've traveled and how they inspire us, and to have the opportunity to photograph him and his bread bake.
