Caption: In history of Tanjungpinang (and may also be part of the history of other towns in the Riau Islands), the coffee shop is an important element in Tanjungpinang as a city that has been started to be built since the beginning of the 19th century. Right now, we have not found any records that could explain when the coffee shop opened in Tanjungpinang. But certainly, coffeehouse was run by immigrants who came from Hainan island in the South Seas or Hailam China. Hainan people is indeed very famous as "peracik" coffee beans and brew into a delicious drink for coffee addicts. Not only in Tanjungpinang, but also in Singapore and Malaya course.
