Caption: After three days in Firenze, we piled into the bus and headed south for a day in the historic day in Siena. We were excited to start slowing life down and to enjoy the brick city.

Caption: With just one night in Siena, we were going to fill it with food and art. The central plaza is a fantastic semi-circle, looking down at the central castle. We enjoyed lunch in the sun and watched a storm start brewing.

Caption: The most dominating structure in the city was the Duomo di Siena. This white striped building sits on the hill and though we had seen many cathedrals in Italy, this one was spectacular. The floor is covered by dozens of detailed mosaics and the upper floors have incredible views of the city.

Caption: If you go to Italy in the fall, you're going to see chestnuts roasting. These classic flavors and smells waft up the street. For just a couple euros, these warm treats are a perfect snack while walking down the street.
