Caption: I didn’t join this trip, I canceled it to company my father who was sick. Yeah I threw my dream to go to Raja Ampat for my late beloved father. January 2021 my hubby & the children went to Raja Ampat for diving trip, and one of the additional activities was visiting Wayag island for snorkeling and meet the sharks that are famous as the “natives” of Wayag.

Caption: We don’t have to dive Just standing, laying or sitting on the shallow water of this beach to “play” with sharks.
Even though it sounds extreme, you don’t need to worry because this sharks are still small and harmless as long as there is no smell of blood or fed close to human limbs.
So we still need to be careful when “playing” with them 👌.

Caption: Mutualism symbiosis between sharks and remora 😍

Caption: A harmony The small fish which sticks to the sharks is remora. The shark and remora relationship benefits both species. Remoras eat scraps of prey dropped by the shark. They also feed off of parasites on the shark’s skin and in its mouth.
This makes the shark happy because the parasites would otherwise irritate the shark.

Caption: Blacktip Shark The sharks that my family met is blacktip shark. They are still quite small, some of it still babies. Getting bigger they will leave Wayag.
Worldwide, the blacktip is listed by the IUCN as near threatened, largely because it's considered quite tasty & often targeted for its meat & its fins, which are used to make shark fin soup 🥺
