Caption: Some of the first buildings constructed here were built in the 1700s. Those buildings that still remain are mixed in with newer ones. One white wall gives way to another more worn with cracks in its plaster showing earthen clay beneath.

Caption: It's easy to get wrapped up in our small world and not step away to see all that surrounds us. There are so many communities within or near Los Angeles that I've never visited. I'm glad to have spent a little time in Santa Barbara. It is one of the most beautiful places I've seen.
