Caption: My girlfriend Ashley was visiting me in Portland for the weekend from the Seattle area. She had yet to hike anywhere in the Columbia River Gorge, so I took her out for the afternoon to see some of my favorite waterfalls in the area.
Latourell Falls was the first stop we made In the Gorge. It was pouring down rain, and we were thoroughly under-dressed for the weather, but we were prepared to make this a memorable adventure.
I would ask Ashley if she wouldn't mind getting soaked or filthy just to get closer to the falls or to see it from a different perspective, and she would give me this puzzled glare, indicating a response along the lines of, "DUH. Let's get as close as humanly possible!"
Other than Ashley's astounding capacity to love and show compassion to others, it's her attachment to beauty and adventure that gets me the most. She's one of the few people I know who possesses a profound admiration for God's creation, and who seeks out God at the foot of his masterpiece. Caption: Some friends and I spent the day exploring Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. We found this huge park that overlooked the Pacific Ocean which my friend used as an opportunity to practice his handstands and I managed to catch him at the right time. A simple flip can give a photo a whole different perspective and my caption "Just hangin' in Malibu" really was perfect for this photo. -Joey Espina (@joey.es)

Caption: This shot was taken during this past summer while on a photo adventure in Santa Monica one afternoon with @AndrewKuttler. I had seen this sculpture before but hadn't captured it the way I wanted to yet. Since scale, symmetry and simplicity are all things that I look for when creating my compositions, I knew this installation was perfect for a #strideby. I stood across the street shooting in burst mode with my iPhone and asked Andrew to walk back and forth under the metallic balls. As cars passed by endlessly, it took quite a bit of patience to capture only him and the art. Luckily he's a trooper and I eventually caught the perfect moment. This photo is easily one of my favorites from 2014. I think it represents our photographic style and our love for exploring Los Angeles together. -Kyle Huber (@asenseofhuber)

Caption: There's nothing more exhilarating than when man and nature unite. Adventure was calling, and we listened. The skies were gloomy, the city blanketed with fog, the mountains waiting to be explored. We set our sights on a hike in the Colombia River Gorge that would take us through forests, waterfalls, and muddy trails. It was like we were casted in a scene from Lord of The Rings. As we trekked through what seemed like never ending switchbacks, we finally emerged to the open summit of Hamilton Mountain. As we rested our legs, my friend Shae ventured out on the mossy rocks which was when I snapped this shot of him. Our bodies ached, but our souls were content from being in the outdoors. Caption: I think we can all agree that the aspect of instagram that sets it apart is its ability to build community. It blows my mind to think about how many people I have met, places I have gone, and conversations I have had all in the name of instagram. It's so crazy that this little app can change the way we see and perceive the world. Since the dawn of social media, I have been able to hop on my computer and escape to another city, state, country, or planet. But since the debut of instagram, I have been able to see the world through other humans' eyes, daily. What makes it special is that I can scroll through someone's feed and see how they view their surroundings everyday. Garret King (@short_stache) is someone who's perception of our planet is beautiful to see and experience. I met him several weeks ago while exploring Rocky Mountain National Park with some friends, and I feel so lucky to have had a chance to spend some time with him. We talked about everything from Nicki Minaj to Contracting photography gigs. Haha. It was a blast. Also, he is incredibly talented and easy to talk to. He's one of those people that you don't feel intimidated by or awkward around. Garret meets you where you are at and speaks to you comfortably. Caption: _______ During our trip in Oregon, we were trying to find our way to a certain waterfall. Somehow we must have taken a wrong turn, but if we had not, we would not have stumbled on this secluded road that was so very majestic. Caption: I met Brandon at the Socality event last weekend in Portland. We all took a bus ride to Canon beach giving us a few hours to talk and get to know each other well. I'd say we became instant friends. One thing I learned about him was his extreme love for animals. Luckily for him, his ride back to Redding California bailed giving him the opportunity to car pool back south with me and my girlfriend. His face beamed when he met my dog Kona. They instantly hit if off. I felt it was the perfect photo shoot opportunity, so we headed to my backyard to snap some photos. Kona was very willing to be held (with a little "treat" bribe). We would both agree all the leftover fur on his jacket was worth it! Anyone got a lint roller? -Susanna Risser (@ladycascades)

Caption: Joshua Tree On the Eve of #WWIM10, my friend Renata @idenchanted and I planned an evening gathering with some other photographers at a unique stretch of Ohio farmland between two historic covered bridges. Our intent was to have a magic hour-sunset shoot, but as the time approached we realized that the skies would be completely overcast. However, what happened was magic nonetheless. The milky cloud cover gave us a soft evening light that was filtered and beautiful. Right in the center of a golden soybean field stood of what remained of a giant fallen tree which we surmised had been the victim of lightning. This moment was captured when Renata stood on the top to survey the surrounding countryside. -Robert Tobin (@robertwtobin)

Caption: Back in May, I roadtripped with @navanel and @sonofnasser from San Francisco to Calgary, Canada.
Nathaniel really wanted to get a few pics in a lumber yard & luckily on our way back from Calgary we passed by one.
The yard was super empty & we didn't see anybody, so we took the liberty of exploring and found a log pile and all these logs floating on the lake.
Nathaniel, in his adventurous self walked out upon the logs to pose for Chris & I doing a #supinesiesta for us.
A minute after Nathaniel got off the logs, a guy in a truck pulled up and kicked us out of the yard.
We got all the shots we wanted anyways and left with an item crossed off our bucket list. -Luke Schoepf (@thereallukes)

Caption: It was almost 2 years ago that I started this tradition. My wife and I were bathing our daughter (Natalie) when she laid back in the tub and her long, thick hair started doing some amazing things. I snapped a few pics and fell in love with the results.
