Caption: In July 2019, I had the priviledge of joining a resort company in order to be one of their next choreographers.
I was asked to fly to their Phuket location, to learn the ropes and gain my confidence in creating daily shows for their guests.
During my time off, I had the opportunity to appreciate the country I was in!

Caption: This is the coconut (maybe?) that almost killed me. Just as I had walked past it’s tree, I heard a “brshh”, then a loud “THOOMP” behind me. Alas, this giant thing was on the ground about five metres away from where I was standing! How lucky that I wasn’t knocked out.

Caption: Then I had the opportunity to explore. During my short time in Thailand, I only went on two boat rides. However, this is much more than most people, so I am very thankful! Pang Nga Bay

Caption: This island was in a key scene in one of the James Bond films... Which doesn’t really mean much to me, but it is still very beautiful. I have watched the movie, but I’m not the fanatic type of person. I’d rather be outdoors exploring! James Bond Island

Caption: Ko Panyi This whole village “floats” on water! They’re really just houses that are built on stilts - but it’s still really cool. They even have a full soccer field that floats. We had the chance to walk around and meet the locals. As always, they were very welcoming and friendly.

Caption: You can really tell how happy and cheeky an elephant can be when they are treated well. The owners truly loved these gentle giants.
(Not so gentle when it came to bananas!)

Caption: Of course, we can’t get through a travel blog without including some food. There were definitely more pictures than this, but too many photos would just make you (or me) hungry. Lets start with this cute panda ice cream that was courtesy of my workplace!

Caption: Now that I’m back in Sydney, almost all of me wants to be back in Thailand. To be honest, it’s more for the amazing people I met.
The people I worked with were so lovely - always looking for something to be joyful about. Always looking to work as a team. Even if there were personal disputes, most people seemed to know how to separate work and pleasure - despite living in close quarters.
I don’t usually post faces on this account for reasons of privacy - but if you’re reading this, I have really appreciated your friendship. You’ve helped me grow my skillset, and understand the true culture of the company. I’m hoping to see all of you again!
I don’t think I saw enough of Thailand to fully appreciate the country or culture. Maybe, I’ll be back in Thailand to experience it more - without the distraction of work.
