Caption: Earlier this month I was lucky enough to be invited by PromPeru to explore this beautiful country with the super talented Matt Donovan @itsworthashot.
After a couple of nights in the capital, Lima, overcoming some serious jet lag and eating all the ceviche I could fit in my belly 🤭 it was time to jump on a 1h55m flight from Lima to Iquitos which is where our Amazonian adventure begins.

Caption: Iquitos is the gateway to the Northern Amazon and is where we catch our speed boat to get to the lodge which is about 1 1/2hrs down the river 🚤
I never realised that the Amazon was so easily accessible. I thought that I would be trekking through the jungle fighting with boa’s then wading through anaconda infested waters while bashing away crocodiles 😂 ummmm I’m glad it’s not like that at all.

Caption: After watching the sunrise, while standing on a beach in the middle of the Amazon 😱 our day was filled up with some activities that the hotel provided, including:
* pink dolphin sighting
* a visit to some giant Lily’s
* jungle hiking 😱
* wildlife spotting
* visiting a native community
And just generally hanging out in the Amazon 😂

This is the best photo that I managed to get of these amazing pink dolphins, they are very sneaky and spend a lot of time under the water and popping up where you least expect it 😂

These amazing giant water Lily’s can grow to 6ft in diameter and can support up to 30kg in weight 😱

This was a great experience to see how the locals live and work on the Amazon.
