Caption: This October I had the privilege of testing the brand new Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II for ten days BEFORE the official announcement in Australia.
Olympus Australia left me in charge of choosing a destination to put the camera through its paces and I chose Norway! 🇳🇴❤️

Caption: This was the waterfront in Bergen and literally the first time we handled the cameras.
I was using various filters to slow down my shutter speed and for this shot I composed the buildings against the water at an angle that captured the highlights coming in from the right.
I waited for a boat to come past to put some movement into the water. 🍁🍂

Caption: After a successful first shoot in Bergen we hit the road for the famous Fjords of Norway, heading towards Voss. (On a side note I was totally driving on the wrong side of the road 👉🏻🚘😱)
Jewels spotted this scene out of the window and we ended up here for an hour! I was mainly using a polarizer filter to help with the reflections. My main lens was 12-40 f 2.8.

Caption: Believe it or not this was the back of a service station near Gudvangen and we ended up here because we were looking for a scene we had spotted in a Google image search. Turns out the pic was from Lofoten Islands. 😂😂
There was a lot of wind around so I used a couple of filters to slow my shutter down to a second. I had the polarizer and a 4 or 6 stop ND.

Caption: This was a total point and shoot as we hadn't yet picked a sunset spot on day 1 and had to do the mad 'jump out of the car on the side of the road' dash!
One of my favorite things about the Olympus system is the true-to-life colors straight out of camera (SOC) and this was a great example of that! 💞❤️

Caption: This was day 2 in the Fjord lands and ANOTHER side of the road shoot. I mean, why bother driving anywhere special when the side of the road looks like this?
I had a disaster getting this shot. Stepped into the water in my boots, almost lost my filter holder and polarizer in the water and a few decent slips. #worthit

Caption: One of my favorite stories of the trip! Our videographer Matt Raimondo was basically across an ocean and Jewels and I were in the cabin booking an Orca tour.
Next minute I hear Jewels screaming to Matt to pose and I'm thinking 'there's no way in the world he will hear this over the OCEAN!'.
I underestimated Jewels' voice. 😳😂

Caption: This is no word of a lie. I took this photo, looked at the back of my camera and said out loud "Well that's not ugly". 😂😂
The super fast burst mode of the new Mark II made photographing Orca's an absolute breeze. I mainly used the 40-150 lens, equivalent 80-300 f2.8, as the whales came very close to the boat! I died, DIED!

Caption: Okay, so this blew my mind! In my head I know that the Olympus has exceptional image stabilization but I never really get to test it as I use a tripod for most shots.
Since we were on the boat I decided I would give it a go hand held and achieved a staggering 1/6 seconds here for a tack sharp image. 😱😱

Caption: Not at all related to photography but Jewels and I shot a 'friendship' photo right next to this 'barn' and then realized it's not a barn but a home and we were probably going to get shot. 😂😂
Luckily we escaped unscathed and walked away with some CUTE aurora shots close to Tromso! 💚
