Caption: As the winter season got off to a slow start in my home state of Washington, rumors of colder storms and deeper snow started circulating from the mountains just to the east in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. I'd always wanted to take the overnight train from Seattle to Whitefish, Montana, so I gave my long-time ski partner, Brian Fletcher an invite, and off we went in search of winter.
