Caption: Every second week, myself and a group of dedicated volunteers take a bunch of dogs for a walk.
Not just any dogs, mind you. From boarders to rescues, every animal at the shelter gets the love and attention they deserve - no matter where they've come from.

Caption: We like to call Noel the dog-whisperer: there is hardly an animal at the shelter that doesn't get excited when they see him coming

Caption: Pictured right is Estelle, the backbone of the entire operation. She and her husband Nicholas started Woodrock in 1996 and have been running the shelter out of their own pockets and determination since then.

Caption: Woodrock is a donation-funded non-profit rescue center located in the Hennops River Valley. They are currently housing and maintaining around 150 dogs, which have been brought in by concerned citizens, dropped off after their owners have passed away, or have been picked up from nearby townships or on the side of main roads and highways.
