Caption: A brisk and early start this morning, we had a fifty minute drive to Maligne Lake from Jasper. We had a 9:45am cruise booked to explore the lake.
On arrival there was a lot of cloud, no sun unfortunately but the lake and surrounding mountains took on another “look and feel”. The colour of the lake was that of the “glacial blue” as it is feed from snow melts after winter ends. Over winter the lake freezes with the ice easily a metre thick. Spirit Island ( well not really landed on the island as it is to small) was a great place to stop for views of the top end of the lake. Awesome morning.
