Caption: The name Llanddwyn means “the church of St. Dwynwen”. She is the Welsh patron saint of lovers and lived during the 5th century AD. Pilgrimages were made to her holy well on the island and shrines were left for her. This created enough wealth to build the chapel, which the ruins of which can be seen today.
