Caption: Île de Porquerolles is the largest of the îlles d'Hyères, a group of islands off the southern coast of France. This island is just a 25 minute ferry from the shores of Hyères, and is also easily accessible from Toulon.
For those traveling from the states, the island's tranquil but active lifestyle is similar to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. It is a must-see for anyone traveling to southern France.

Caption: Auberge des Glycines There are many hotels and inns to stay at on the island. This bed and breakfast has a wonderful staff and some really awesome rooms. Ours was detached in its own building with a big bathtub.

Caption: Place de Notre Dame My favorite beach on Porquerolles. It's clear water meets the sky to produce one of the most beautiful colors of blue I have ever seen. The beach is sandy and comfortable with an amazing breeze. I will forever dream of this place and cannot wait to return.

Caption: Vineyards and Farms Although the beaches are the island's main attraction, many beautiful vineyards and farms are accessible by bike. These areas require a little more mountain biking, but it is still easy and a lot of fun.
Caption: The ambiance on the island becomes elegant at night as each restaurant brings out its white tablecloths and lights its candles.
The food may be slightly more pricey, but it is worth every penny for the experience.
