The Order of Malta is a Roman Catholic religious order of military, chivalrous and nobel nature. It is the world's oldest surviving order of chilvalry.
Today the order has some 13.000 members, 80.000 permanent volunteers and 20.000 medical personnel in more than 120 countries. Their goal is to assist elderly, handicapped, refugeed, children, homeless and sick in all parts of the world, without distinction of race or religion.
