Caption: I plan weddings, so I think about being marriage a lot. I love planning fun dates with my husband. Kananaskis is in my backyard, and for this date we decided to go exploring! Here's some tips for an awesome overnight date in k-country!

Caption: First off - picnic gathering at Mountain Mercato in Canmore!
Caption: Mountain Mercato on Main Street in Canmore is the perfect place to stock up for a picnic. Grab a fresh French loaf, some charcuterie, cheeses & gourmet jelly to pair.
I also love using Kitchen Papers placemats to make picnics feel a bit fancy. Sneak across the street to the Wine Cellar to grab a bottle of wine.

Caption: We left Canmore & traveled up the Smith-Dorian Road ( head towards the Nordic centre & just keep going!). It's a bumpy gravel road, not suitable for low cars.

Caption: The road is dotted with picnic spots. We found the most amazing spot! It was tucked away in the forest, totally secluded from the other tables.

Caption: We made our way to the Delta Kananaskis & had the pleasure of staying in their signature club building. I love the Delta because it's close to Canmore & Calgary, but it really feels like you are 'away'

Caption: We grabbed dinner in the Italian restaurant ( there's a few spots onsite) and were pleasantly surprised to find one of our favorite BC wines from Blasted Church Winery
