Georgia’s viticulture history dates back more than 8,000 years and is largely entwined with the nation’s identity. The qvevri, a large egg shaped terracotta vessel buried in the ground, remains a centerpiece of traditional winemaking in Georgia. At the forefront of Georgian wine tourism, the Kakheti region is truly a destination for wine aficionados.
