Caption: The thought of visiting South Africa had never crossed my mind until a work opportunity led me to Johannesburg a.k.a. Jozi. When I moved to Jozi I knew of nothing but its crime rate and I carried a security guide instead of A Travel Guide to the city. But as time passed both Jozi and I warmed up to each other and enough for me to believe that if I was careful then Jozi would have my back. So I put my trust in Jozi, tore up my security guide and followed my heart. These are a complication of photos of my journey of exploration, a journey of my falling in love with Jozi.

It got delayed because Arson and riots became widespread.
When it eventually went ahead I had to indemnify liability should It make me dead. But the newness of this all was forgotten at the sight of this wall!

Caption: 4 months into my stay i made my first dangerous foray, a walkabout in Hillbrow and a visit to Ponte City Apartments. Ponte is famous for its recent history as the most dangerous building in Africa and has its own Wikipedia page. It is also a glorious peice of architecture, as seen from its core.
