Caption: Fueled by the famous donuts of Salt Lake's Banbury Cross, we drive until Promontory, Utah, home of the Golden Spike. This is the point where the Union and Central Pacific railroads joined their rails.
During our visit, the Jupiter steam train rolled out to welcome us. The wood used to power the engine is being taken from the Uintas. It is the wood that has been killed off by the bark beetle.
