Video of Hokitika Clock Tower
Caption: It was super surprising to see this clock tower in the middle of the road, but what an awesome way to build out an otherwise boring roundabout. Turns out this clock was commissioned and built to commemorate the region’s contribution to the Second Boer War. I always geek out reading the history of things. More often than not, I find that seemingly random things have major historical significance.
