Caption: Husavik is a small fishing village on the north eastern tip of Iceland, and sits just outside the Arctic Circle.
It's primary industry is fishing, but is also can boast about being the whale watching capital of Iceland. With such great feeding grounds for the whales, it can draw Humpbacks, Orcas, Minke, and the infamous Blue Whale to its waters. Along with whales, over 200 thousand Puffins will make their home just off shore during the summer, hunting for food (they can dive up to 60m) and getting fat before they flee for the winter.

Caption: Godafoss
Godafoss is one of the three big waterfalls in the north (along with Selfoss and Detifoss), and while not the biggest waterfall in the country, certainly one of the most majestic.
It's name comes from a pivotal time in Icelandic history during the year 1000 when the country converted from its Pagan Norse religion into Christianity. To seal the act of the conversion, the chieftain and law speaker in Iceland at the time threw the heathen Norse God idols into the falls in a symbolic act. Hence, Godafoss, which translates to "Waterfall Of The Gods".

Caption: Namafjall Geothermal Field
A collection of mud pots, mud pools, and steam vents near the Krafla volcano system. The environment is so hostile and acidic that no vegetation can grow in this area as the ground is utterly sterile and barren of flora. The fumes can be toxic to humans as well, but not in short periods. This area draws many adventurous tourists due to its completely alien landscape that resembles a different world.

The "Blue Lagoon" of the north - the sulfuric rotten egg smell is much stronger here than at its more popular sister in the south, due to its proximity to the Namafjall geothermal field, which is just over the ridge.
