Layered dhal and rice with a sweet and tangy sauce

(Dry roasted lentils with tangy sauce)
Ingredients
2 cups Toovar Daal - washed & soaked overnight
Wash and drain the put to boil
Boil with a pinch of turmeric until cook through but not mushy
Spoon out the dhal but leave 1/3 of dhal in the boil and keep boiling

Caption: Soaked over night, washed & ready to boil
Caption: In a pan heat some oil will ginger/ garlic / green chilli paste then add the drained dhal
Add the dried spices
1/2tsp Turmeric
2tsp Coriander
2tsp Cumin
1-2tsp Red Chilli
Salt to taste
Roast this dhal mixture gently in the wok like dish.
Set aside

21/2 cups washed rice
Bring water to boil in a pan with dried seeds- Cumin cloves cinnamon and bay leaf
Par boil and drain rice - set aside

Boil eggs - deshell and fry whole - set aside
Fry potatoes - set aside
At this pint in a separate bowl steep 200g tamarind in boiling hot water - set aside

Desiccated coconut

Chick pea flour paste to thicken sauce
