Caption: HAMBURG ELBPHILHARMONIE INSTAMEET #elphimeetshamburgahoi
from Nov. 7th to 10th 2016
Hamburg Marketing, Hamburgahoi and Elbphilharmonie invited 20 international Instagramers from 10 different countries (as well as several local Intagramers) to come to Hamburg and promote both the city and the brand new Elbphilharmonie building (see title image). The instagrammers all stayed at the Westin hotel which is located inside the Elbphilharmonie building. The main attraction of the meet was an exclusive access to the empty Elbphilharmonie concert hall, which is not yet open to the public. We were incredibly privileged to be amongst the very first in the world to photograph and publisch interior pictures of the amazing building. Caption: ELBPHILHARMONIE The building is a combination of the Kaispeicher A, a former warehouse built in 1963 for storage of coffee and cocoa, and the new glass facade designed by the architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. Inside the building there are two concert halls, a hotel (Westin) and residential apartments. You can read more about the building and project on www.elbphilharmonie.de

Caption: THE HOTEL We stayed at the hotel Westin Hamburg, which is located inside the Elbphilharmonie building and had opened just two days prior to our arrival. The image above is the view from my room. No words needed I guess:) (and yes, I woke up to snow on the first day!😳🌨❄️❄️❄️)

Caption: THE CONCERT HALL One of the main attractions during the Elbphilharmonie instameet, was an exclusive visit to the empty concert Grand hall. The concert hall was breathtakingly beautiful with solid #WOWfactor! The memory of this visit will stay with me forever. One day I hope to experience the hall in the way it was meant; with music:) The Grand opening of the hall will be on January 11th 2017.

Caption: SPEICHERSTADT My favorite part of Hamburg and a classic shot. I could visit again and again and never tire of the many historic details, the lines, the perspective views, the bridges....sigh! It was snowing during my walk around the area, something that added to the special mood. Loved it!
Speicherstadt is the world’s largest contiguous warehouse complex built in 1883. It is one of the main attractions of the city and since 1991 it is listed as a UNESCO world heritage.

Caption: THE TOWNHALL We got a private and exclusive guided tour of the interior of the Hamburg town hall, normally not open to the public at all. It was impressive and interesting to hear about the history of the building, see and experience the many rooms as well as learning all the facts about how it is used today.

Caption: URBAN HAMBURG I didn't have a lot of time to explore Hamburg further, but we did manage to see some urban spots with interesting details on our last day. One thing is certain; I'll have to come back:) These are a few favorite impressions:
