Caption: The Flatiron Building is easy to love. It's one of the most photographed buildings in the world and has drawn the eye of such talented amateurs as Edward Steichen and Alfred Steiglitz.
Whenever I photograph something so well known, I want to find some new way of presenting it. Some hidden angle or perspective, some scarcely-known detail. Or maybe I'll be blessed with a piece of happenstance to which others weren't privy.

Caption: I don't know that I found any of those things here, maybe I did, but that's why I refer to them as studies. Good efforts upon which I'll try to improve. I shot them on a sunny Sunday, with an iPhone 6 Plus and processed them with Enlight. The clouds were very pleasing to me that day, as was the early evening light. It seemed a sin to let all of that Beaux-Arts detailing go to waste, so I decided to draw out the contrast and structure and set them in front of the sky's fluffy whiteness.

Caption: I like and dislike each image for one reason or another. The angle in the first and third shots are intriguing. The second one is a good idea that needs more thought.
