In the 13th century, it became an influential city thanks to the textile industry and trade, Families who dominated the banking sector (such as the Medici) funded various Renaissance painters, sculptors and architects whose works can be seen in different monuments.

Caption: The fourth largest church of Europe. It is a symbol of the wealth of Florence in the 13th and 14th centuries. It marks the beginning of the Renaissance and is known for its impressive dome. It was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and it is the largest masonry dome in the world.
