Caption: There’s something about the start of a new month - you want to embrace it. June came round fast. Too fast, as it doesn’t feel like summer. So on June 1, we decided to have a longer day away and drove to Elie in Fife for one of our favourite coastal walks. Saturday 1 June

Caption: We arrived to find this brooding sky and this calm but moody sea. After a long drive, we needed some food before our walk, so we found a picnic bench and took in this view.

Caption: We followed the coastal path past the lighthouse towards Lady’s Tower, and on in the direction of St Monans.

Caption: We paused at a bench to take in the view. If you’re feeling energetic, this can be a long walk to St Monans and on to Pittenweem. We weren’t planning to go that far though - we wanted to walk back along the beach.
