Caption: We arrived at Val di Funes late in the evening.
It was pitch-black. The lights from the small houses and villages scattered over the sides turned into the stars on the night sky.
We didn’t know what was out there until we woke up the next morning.

We had the church all by ourselves that morning.
Having the space and time to enjoy and take it all in.

Caption: Driving through the mountain pass on a one-lane road, we hardly met any bypassers. Phew!
We arrived at Lago di Braies around noon, and the parking lot was packed.
Nevertheless, we took half a round of the lake, before venturing onto a trail leading us away from the lake and up in the mountains.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
The magnificent giants towering to the sky.
We were so lucky, that it had snowed the week before, making everything beautiful and magical.
